Wow! God did it!! Thanks to the overwhelming support from our community, the 175th Okolona Celebration was a resounding success! On the evening of December 15, 2025, the Rockwell-Green Auditorium was filled with joy, laughter, and a spirit of togetherness as friends, families, and neighbors came together to honor "The Little City That Does BIG Things."
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our wonderful guest speaker, Mrs. Celia Fisher, whose detailed timeline breakdown of Okolona’s rich history reminded us all of our community’s proud past and bright future. The celebration sparkled with the soulful performance of King Jayden Lowe, whose passion and love truly touched everyone in attendance.
The Okolona Main Street Chamber truly brought the evening to life with their thoughtful decorations that set the perfect tone for our milestone event. Special shout-outs to Harolyn Turner Flynt for the stunning centerpiece on the cake table, Pat Ware and Walmart Super Center Barnes Crossing for the delicious cake that everyone enjoyed, and Shunta Bailey-Cooperwood for creating memorable programs and commemorative t-shirts for attendees.
We also extend our gratitude to Doug-Wanda Carol Sweeney for recording the evening’s festivities, Rich Cousin for providing top-notch sound, and the Okolona Mayoral Health Council for their outstanding work behind the scenes.
Thank you to each and every individual who took time out of their busy day to join us in celebration. Events like these continue to show why Okolona is a small city making a big impact. Here’s to many more years of celebrating our incredible community together!
